Also featured in the Winter 2024 issue of ChipChats Magazine was Lynne Patrick’s pyrography of the “First Responders” theme (Fireman - shown top left) that won the BEST SHOW THEME ENTRY at Charlotte’s 40th annual “Showcase of Woodcarvings.”

Girl Scout Carving Project……………………………..Sheila Hunter (Instructor)

“The primary goal of Triad Woodcarvers is to promote the art of woodcarving.

We strive to educate carvers through group carving sessions, workshops, seminars, classes and other activities”.

Sheila Hunter taught a group of eight Girl Scouts how to carve. The session took place at Highland Presbyterian Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on February 4, 2024.

The selected project was either a “Cube Dude”or a simple snowman carved from a basswood block as shown.
